DIG Commends Police for Muharram Security

DIG Sukkur and Larkana Ranges Nasir Aftab on Saturday commended both ranges' police for their exemplary security arrangements from 1st Muharram-ul-Haram, particularly on Youm-e-Ashura.

Police Performance Praised

Nasir Aftab stated that officers and personnel of Sukkur Range Police performed their duties with utmost diligence and responsibility during Muharram-ul-Haram, Youm-e-Ashura, and Jummat-ul-Mubarak. He added that the Government of Sindh, Civil Administration, paramedical staff, Municipal Corporation, SEPCO administration, 1122, Edhi Centre, Civil Defence, and all police departments carried out their security and administrative responsibilities with hard work and dedication.

Security Measures and Technology

All male and female police officers and personnel remained at their duty points until the safe return of the public and mourners. The security clearance for Majalis and processions, along with traffic management arrangements, remained largely satisfactory. Modern technology, aerial surveillance, and effective intelligence sharing were incorporated into the security plan.

Cooperation and Acknowledgements

DIG expressed gratitude to the Ulema, Zakireen, Mashaikh, notables, and other stakeholders from all schools of thought for their cooperation. The role of Traffic Police, RRF, CTD, Special Branch, IT, Telecommunication, RIB, DIB Branch, Training Branch, and all district police officers and personnel was commendable.

Media and Law Enforcement Role

The coverage and role of all media houses — print, electronic, and social media — in promoting religious harmony and maintaining law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram was highly praised. He also commended the role of Pakistan Rangers Sindh and other law enforcement agencies in the security arrangements.
