KARACHI: Director General of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA), Asif Jan Siddiqui, has stated that employees are the institution's most valuable asset and that every possible measure is being taken to ensure their welfare, professional development, and resolution of their issues.
Charter of Demands Signed
He made these remarks while addressing a ceremony to sign the Charter of Demands (COD), which was signed by representatives of the KDA Employees Union (CBA) and the DG KDA at the KDA headquarters, according to a statement issued on Tuesday.
The DG KDA paid tribute to the special efforts made by Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah for the welfare of KDA employees, noting that it was under his patronage and support that the approval of the employees' long-standing demands was made possible.
Boosting Employee Morale
He said that the approval of the Charter of Demands will boost employee morale and further enhance the institution's performance, which will positively impact the delivery of civic services. During the ceremony, office-bearers of the KDA Employees Union (CBA) described the approval of the Charter of Demands after 29 years as a highly welcome and historic step for the employees, expressing their heartfelt gratitude to Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and KDA Director General Asif Jan Siddiqui.
The union representatives pledged that the employees would continue to discharge their duties for the development, stability, and public service of the institution with even greater hard work and dedication. A large number of KDA officers, employees, and union office-bearers attended the ceremony, hailing the approval of the Charter of Demands as a significant milestone towards fostering mutual trust and cooperation between the institution and its employees.
