KP Excise Dept Intensifies Crackdown on Property Tax Defaulters

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has intensified its campaign against property tax defaulters in Peshawar, sealing several commercial units and issuing final notices to banks and other entities over unpaid dues.

Recovery Operations in Peshawar

According to officials, special recovery operations were conducted in different parts of the provincial capital under the supervision of Excise and Taxation Officer Ejaz Anwar. During the crackdown, a number of properties were sealed for non-payment of taxes, while final recovery notices were served on major defaulters.

In a parallel operation led by Excise and Taxation Officer Tauseef Khan, Assistant Excise and Taxation Officers Nasir Mehmood and Zar Ali Khan carried out enforcement action against large property tax defaulters across the city. Officials said legal proceedings had been initiated against several owners who failed to clear outstanding liabilities despite repeated notices. Multiple commercial units were subsequently sealed as part of the recovery drive.

The department urged property owners to ensure timely payment of taxes to avoid legal action and disruption to business activities.

Meeting with Industrial Community

Separately, the department held a meeting with representatives of the industrial community to address taxation-related complaints and facilitate prompt resolution of pending cases. The meeting, chaired by Excise and Taxation Officer Zahid Iqbal, was attended by President of the Industrial Association Ayub Zakori, Senior Vice-President Haris Mufti and other officials.

Industrial representatives presented their concerns directly to departmental authorities, following which immediate action was taken to resolve around 15 cases on the spot. Participants appreciated the department's prompt response and facilitation measures.

Officials also issued PT-10 challans to industrialists to help expedite pending legal and taxation procedures. The meeting reaffirmed the department's commitment to resolving issues faced by the industrial sector through continued coordination and mutual cooperation.
