Lahore Police, Bar Association Strengthen Coordination

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana emphasized that close coordination between police and the legal fraternity is essential for upholding the rule of law and ensuring lasting peace in society. He expressed these views during a meeting with an 11-member delegation of the Lahore Bar Association at the Capital City Police Headquarters.

Meeting Details and Attendees

The meeting, attended by DIG (Admin) Imran Kishwar, discussed matters of mutual professional interest and measures to strengthen institutional coordination. The Lahore Bar Association delegation was led by its president Irfan Hayat Bajwa and included Senior Vice President Mian Tahir Munir, Vice President Humayun Zaheer Bhatti, Vice President (Model Town Courts) Asif Kanwal Khan, and Vice President (Cantt Courts) Zahid Mehmood Gill.

Key Agreements Reached

Both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation and reached a consensus to establish a dedicated Police Khidmat Markaz within the premises of the Lahore Session Court. The CCPO said the facility would provide lawyers, litigants, and the general public with one-window access to essential police services, making service delivery more efficient and convenient.

To improve routine coordination and facilitate prompt resolution of issues, the meeting also agreed that the Lahore Bar Association would nominate dedicated focal persons at the divisional level.

Shared Responsibility for Justice

Bilal Siddique Kamyana said the police and the legal fraternity share the responsibility of ensuring respect for the law. He added that the effective administration of justice, constitutional supremacy, and the maintenance of public order require close cooperation among the bench, the bar, and law enforcement agencies. The Lahore Bar Association delegation appreciated the initiatives taken by the Lahore police to curb crime and maintain law and order in the provincial capital.
