LAHORE - Capital City Police Officer Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana has stated that maintaining peace, promoting religious harmony, and ensuring the protection of citizens' lives and property during Muharram-ul-Haram will remain the foremost priorities of Lahore Police. He made these remarks while chairing a performance review meeting of the Civil Lines and City Divisions at the Capital City Police Headquarters.
Comprehensive Review of Security Arrangements
The meeting undertook a comprehensive review of Muharram security arrangements, the prevailing law and order situation, crime control measures, and the overall performance of the divisions. The CCPO directed to ensure strict implementation of the government-prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Muharram security.
Continued Operations for Peaceful Environment
He further instructed that search, sweep, and combing operations be continued across the city to maintain a peaceful and secure environment during Muharram. Bilal Siddique Kamyana ordered an intensified crackdown against drug traffickers and individuals involved in social evils.
Special Teams for Proclaimed Offenders
He directed the formation of special teams comprising competent officers to expedite the arrest of proclaimed offenders and habitual criminals. Emphasizing the importance of effective investigations, the CCPO instructed the Investigation Wing to ensure the timely submission of challans in under-investigation cases and further improve the quality of investigations to ensure that offenders are brought to justice in accordance with the law.
Public Service Delivery and Complaint Resolution
Highlighting the significance of public service delivery, he stressed the need for resolving complaints received through the Complaint Management System within the stipulated timeframe and ensuring prompt relief to citizens. The CCPO said that police officers must fully utilize their professional capabilities and perform their duties with dedication and commitment to contribute towards building a safe, peaceful, and law-abiding society.
