Senior Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb called on Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan on Monday. During the meeting, Aurangzeb, on behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, thanked the Speaker for conducting the proceedings of the provincial assembly in an efficient and orderly manner during the budget session.
Speaker Expresses Gratitude for Development Projects
Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, in turn, expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for approving and supporting development projects for the Punjab Assembly. Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said the progress achieved in initiatives such as the Suthra Punjab cleanliness programme, the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar housing scheme, environmental improvement measures, infrastructure development, education and healthcare reflected the Chief Minister’s commitment and hard work.
Metro and Electric Bus Expansion Hailed as Major Welfare Initiative
He also described the plan to expand metro and electric bus services across Punjab as a major public welfare initiative aimed at improving transport facilities for citizens. The Speaker further said that, for the first time, development projects were being undertaken in every provincial constituency irrespective of political affiliation, adding that the Chief Minister had established a positive democratic and political tradition by ensuring equitable distribution of development funds.
Tribute to Speaker’s Parliamentary Services
Maryam Aurangzeb also paid tribute to Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan for his services to parliament, democracy and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
