The incumbent government of Pakistan will present the federal budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 in the Parliament on June 12, Friday. The budget aims to develop a comprehensive roadmap to foster economic stability, promote growth, and address the socio-economic expectations of the public. Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, will present the budget.
The budget has been formulated considering the existing challenges faced by the economy on both domestic and international fronts. Sources indicate that mitigating public hardships, transforming various economic sectors, and boosting exports will be the main focus areas of the budget document.
In addition to fiscal management and revenue mobilization, the budget will feature measures for economic stabilization and growth, reduction in non-development expenditures, job creation, and people-friendly policies for the socioeconomic prosperity of the country. The sources further stated that preparations for the federal budget announcement have been progressing in full swing according to the prescribed timelines.
The budget is being prepared in close coordination among all relevant departments and ministries involved in the budget-related events, including the presentation in Parliament and the launch of the Economic Survey. Meanwhile, the pre-budget document, the Economic Survey of Pakistan, will be launched on June 11, Thursday. This survey will highlight the overall performance of the economy during the outgoing fiscal year, providing realistic feedback and a basis for future planning.
