Pakistan Navy Initiates Operation Muhafiz-ul-Bahr to Safeguard Critical Maritime Trade Routes

In response to the evolving regional maritime security landscape, the Pakistan Navy has officially launched Operation Muhafiz-ul-Bahr. This strategic initiative is designed to counter multi-dimensional threats that jeopardize national shipping and maritime commerce, ensuring the continuity of essential energy supplies and the security of sea lines of communication.

Ensuring Uninterrupted Trade and Energy Security

According to a detailed statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation aims to maintain the security, stability, and uninterrupted flow of traffic along vital maritime routes. Nearly 90 percent of Pakistan's trade is conducted through sea routes, highlighting the critical importance of this mission for the nation's economic stability and growth.

The ISPR spokesperson emphasized that the Pakistan Navy is fully cognizant of the current maritime situation and is continuously monitoring the movement of merchant vessels. To guarantee the safe passage of these ships, their movements are being closely tracked and controlled through coordinated efforts.

Coordinated Efforts with National Shipping Corporation

Escort operations are being carried out in close coordination with the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, ensuring a unified approach to maritime defense. Currently, Pakistan Navy ships are escorting two merchant vessels, with one expected to arrive in Karachi today, demonstrating the immediate implementation and effectiveness of the operation.

The statement further reinforced that the Pakistan Navy remains fully prepared to address emerging maritime security challenges and is steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding national shipping interests and regional maritime security. This proactive stance underscores the navy's role as a key player in maintaining peace and stability in the maritime domain.
