The 42nd session of the Punjab Assembly has been summoned for June 8, according to an official notification issued by the Punjab Assembly Secretariat. The session has been called by the Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan and will commence at 2pm on Monday. The proceedings will be chaired by Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan.
Legislative Focus
The Assembly Secretariat has formally notified members about the session, which is expected to focus on legislative business and the disposal of pending assembly agenda items before the presentation of the provincial budget. Sources said the government intends to utilize the pre-budget session to complete necessary legislation and clear outstanding parliamentary business ahead of the next phase of the assembly’s proceedings.
Budget Session Anticipated
According to parliamentary sources, following the conclusion of the current session, the governor is expected to summon the budget session of the Punjab Assembly, which is likely to begin on June 12. The provincial government is expected to present the Punjab budget for the upcoming fiscal year during that session.
