Rs21.8bn allocated for Interior Division in PSDP 2026-27

The federal government has earmarked an amount of Rs21.825 billion for the Interior and Narcotics Control Division under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2026-27. Out of the total allocation, Rs15.800 billion has been proposed for ongoing schemes, while Rs6.025 billion has been set aside for new schemes under the administrative control of the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control.

New Schemes Allocation

For new schemes, the government has allocated Rs500 million for the construction of accommodation for the Headquarters of FC Balochistan (West). Additionally, Rs1,000 billion has been earmarked for the establishment of the Federal Constabulary (FC) Headquarters at Sector H-11 in Islamabad. Furthermore, Rs400 million has been allocated for the acquisition of land and hiring of consultancy firms to conduct a feasibility study for the establishment of a Special Protection Unit (SPU) in Islamabad Police. Another Rs2,000 million has been designated for the construction of the Margalla Avenue Link Road connecting to the M-1 Motorway under the new schemes category.

Ongoing Schemes Allocation

Under ongoing schemes, Rs530 million has been allocated for the up-gradation of the Biometric Identification System for Passport Application. A sum of Rs1,000 million has been set aside for the construction of a Model Prison in Islamabad. Moreover, Rs333 million has been earmarked for the Integrated Border Management System (IBMS Phase-II), while Rs2,699 million has been allocated for the expansion of the Islamabad Safe City Project.

Other Ongoing Projects

Under old schemes, Rs166 million has been allocated for the establishment of a 'Land Revenue Records Management System' in rural areas of Islamabad. Additionally, Rs185 million has been designated for providing drinking water facilities in 16 union councils (UCs) of rural Islamabad. Another Rs369 million has been allocated for the construction of 13 regional passport offices in Sindh, and Rs479 million for providing foreign national security and allied facilities.

An amount of Rs1,100 million has been allocated for the construction of additional family suites for members of Parliament, including 500 servant quarters. Furthermore, Rs2,755 million has been set aside for the Digital Economy Enhancement Project (Component-III, Nadra). Two separate allocations of Rs2,000 million each have been made for the construction of the National Police Hospital in Islamabad and for establishing international standard, purpose-built conventional forensics facilities for the National Forensic Agency.
