The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has issued a call for all Muslims within the Kingdom to observe the crescent moon of Dhul Hijjah on the evening of Sunday. The court has requested that anyone who spots the crescent, whether with the naked eye or through binoculars, report their sighting to the nearest court to officially register their testimony. Alternatively, individuals can contact the nearest official center for assistance in the process.
Grand Mufti Encourages Acts of Worship
In a related development, Saudi Arabia's Grand Mufti, Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan, has encouraged Muslims to increase their acts of worship and good deeds during the blessed first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. He emphasized that deeds performed during this period are especially beloved to Allah. Specifically, he highlighted the immense merit of fasting on the Day of Arafah for those not performing the Hajj pilgrimage, noting that it expiates the sins of two years.
Guidance for Udhiyah Sacrifice
Sheikh Al-Fawzan also reminded those intending to offer the Udhiyah sacrifice to refrain from cutting their hair, nails, or skin from the beginning of the month until the sacrifice is completed. This practice is part of the religious observances associated with the period.
