The Secretariat police have booked an unauthorized individual for recording video footage containing remarks directed against a Member of the National Assembly at the Parliament House. The case was registered on the complaint of the chief security officer of the Senate Secretariat.

Incident Details

According to the First Information Report (FIR), on May 8, 2026, an unauthorized person gained unlawful entry to the Parliament House parking area through Gate 1 at 11:23 am. Delayed Complaint

The alleged incident occurred on May 8, but the complainant approached the police on June 1, 2026, almost 25 days later. Interestingly, the names of both the MNA and the accused are not mentioned in the FIR.

According to sources, the video contained remarks directed against Federal Minister Hanif Abbasi, who is a Member of the National Assembly. However, the FIR was registered on the complaint of a Senate security officer.

Investigation and Background

Sources said that the minister first tried to persuade Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq to help register a case against the individual. The Speaker, upon the minister’s request, launched an official investigation. The probe revealed that a businessman from Rawalpindi, Raja Shehroze (the accused), entered the Parliament House premises in a vehicle with registration number GAB-165.

The sources added that the vehicle is an official Land Cruiser used by a PML-N Senator, sparking debate over potential orchestration behind the incident. During the initial probe, other videos posted by Raja Shehroze against the federal minister were found, indicating personal grudges or business disputes between them, according to the incident report.

Allegations of Orchestration

Sources said the accused, who protested against the minister in the video, did not act independently but was transported in and out using the PML-N Senator’s official vehicle. The protester had recorded prior social media videos leveling allegations regarding the business dealings of Abbasi’s son.

The matter remained under discussion between the minister and the Speaker for almost three weeks, but the latter did not agree to intervene. Subsequently, the minister approached Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gillani, and a case was registered against the businessman who came to Parliament House and made a video against Hanif Abbasi.
