Peshawar – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial spokesperson and former minister Shaukat Yousafzai has announced that the formal notification establishing a Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) for Kana Tehsil is expected to be issued this week. This development will complete the administrative framework of the area.
Background of Kana Tehsil
Speaking to local stakeholders, Yousafzai explained that Kana Tehsil was established in 2022, but the creation of its municipal administration had remained pending due to administrative hurdles and his absence from the provincial assembly. He noted that the matter was recently brought to his attention by social and political figure Muhammad Naeem Khan Advocate, prompting him to take up the issue with the relevant authorities.

According to Yousafzai, he subsequently held meetings with Local Government Minister Mian Khan Afridi, Secretary Local Government Zafar Islam Khattak, and Local Council Board Secretary Waheed. During these discussions, it was agreed that the notification for the establishment of the TMA would be issued within the current week.
