According to police officials, stringent security arrangements were enforced around mosques, Imambargahs, and other places of worship. Heightened vigilance was maintained at the city's entry and exit points, major roads, and sensitive locations.
Deployment of Security Forces
Snipers were deployed at key locations, and patrols around mosques were increased. The Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit (PRU), and other patrolling units remained actively deployed to monitor security around worship sites. The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Operations directed officers to intensify checking at security pickets and ensure that no suspicious person or vehicle was allowed entry without proper inspection.
Advisory for Citizens
Citizens were advised to park motorcycles and vehicles at a safe distance from mosques to minimize any potential threats. The DIG Operations instructed supervisory officers to personally oversee Friday prayer security arrangements and directed all personnel on duty to remain fully alert.
Residents were urged to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity by calling the police emergency helpline 15. The heightened security measures reflect the authorities' commitment to ensuring public safety during the festive period.
