Six Suspects Killed, ASI Injured in Faisalabad Encounters

FAISALABAD - Six record-holder suspects were killed while an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and two suspects sustained injuries in separate police encounters across Faisalabad.

First Encounter: Robbery Suspects Neutralized

According to police, four armed men riding in a car robbed a citizen at gunpoint in the Hashmat Pura area within the jurisdiction of City Samundri Police Station on Saturday night. Acting on information, SHO City Samundri Haji Iqbal Fareed, along with his team, pursued the suspects as they fled towards Faisalabad. A shootout occurred near Roshanwala Bypass involving City Samundri and Roshanwala police. During the exchange of fire, ASI Waris sustained injuries, while suspects Ramzan Saif, Asif, Waris Ali and Tanveer were critically injured and later died on their way to hospital. Police said the suspects were travelling in a car allegedly snatched from the Safdarabad area of Sheikhupura district. Weapons and other incriminating items were recovered from their possession.

Second Encounter: Another Suspect Killed

In another encounter near Pul Dingro within Nishatabad Police Station limits, suspect Ashfaq was killed during an exchange of fire with police led by SHO Sajid Mahmood. Over 30,000 suspects and vehicles were screened through E-Police posts.

Third Encounter: Wanted Suspect Killed

Separately, a police team headed by Sub-Inspector Muhammad Ilyas raided Khalid Town to arrest wanted suspect Ashraf, who was involved in FIR No. 779/26. Police claimed Ashraf and an accomplice opened fire on the raiding party, prompting retaliatory action in which Ashraf was killed.

Other Incidents

In separate incidents, suspects Sajjad and Bilal were injured during encounters with Mansoorabad and D-Type police, respectively. Police stated that all the deceased and injured suspects were record-holders involved in serious criminal cases and were hit by the firing of their own accomplices. Raids are underway to arrest the absconding suspects.

Injuries and Arrests

Meanwhile, injured ASI Waris has been shifted to Allied Hospital-II and is reported to be out of danger. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Faisalabad Zone has arrested two suspects allegedly involved in financial fraud and illegal banking activities. The operation was conducted by SHO Ajmal Hussain on a tip-off under the directions of Director Saqib Sultan and the supervision of Deputy Director Tariq Mahmood. The arrested suspects, identified as Muhammad Ramzan son of Muhammad Ali and Muhammad Ramzan son of Muhammad Yousaf, were allegedly involved in illegal financial transactions through fraudulently opened bank and microfinance accounts. During the raid, FIA recovered Rs350,000 in cash, mobile phones, ATM and credit cards, along with important digital evidence. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly operating around 84 JazzCash clone accounts, digital mobile banking accounts and other communication platforms for illegal fund transfers and financial transactions. A case has been registered against the suspects, while investigators have expanded the scope of the inquiry to identify and arrest other members of the network.
