DIG Sukkur Penalizes 15 Police Officials for Corruption

DIG Sukkur Naseer Aftab has taken major disciplinary action against police officials of Sukkur Range on charges of corruption, misuse of authority and failure to control crime, under the accountability policy of Sindh IG Javed Alam Odho.

Departmental Inquiries Lead to Demotions, Dismissals

According to a notification issued after departmental inquiries on Wednesday, Inspector Waheed was demoted to sub-inspector for two years, forfeited one year’s service and barred from serving as SHO for one year. Inspector Nooruddin and Additional Private Secretary Waqar Ahmed were dismissed from service, while Junior Clerk Kareem Bux Agha lost one year’s service.

Penalties for Sub-Inspectors, ASIs, and Constables

Sub Inspector Mir Hazar Khaskheli had two increments stopped, while ASIs Ali Gul Sial, Noor Muhammad Kolachi, Gul Sher Metlo, Ghulam Hyder Sheikh, Riaz Ali Sodro and Hasnain Zafar Rajput were warned to be cautious in future. Constables Mushtaq Ahmed Abbasi and Ghulam Asghar Soomro were barred from postings in Traffic and CRO branches for two years.

Reinstatement Appeals Decided

The DIG also decided 36 reinstatement appeals. ASI Nasrullah Lashari was reinstated with one year’s service forfeited. Appeals of 20 out of 22 dismissed constables were accepted with major penalties, including service cuts of one to two years, posting restrictions, transfers outside their districts and placement under observation. Inquiries were ordered into appeals of two other constables.

Leave Granted, Warning Issued

Lady ASI Laraib Soomro was granted 90 days’ leave. DIG Aftab warned that no leniency would be shown to officials involved in negligence or criminal activity, while good performance would be rewarded.
