Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has termed the recent wave of terrorist attacks in the province as part of international conspiracies against Pakistan. He announced that the government would provide Rs11 million compensation to the family of each policeman martyred in the Ziarat attack.
Operation Shaban: 75 Terrorists Killed
At least 75 terrorists have been killed in Balochistan since July 5 during the ongoing Operation Shaban, according to Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti. In a post on X, he stated that 39 terrorists were eliminated in joint ground and air operations by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, and Balochistan Police in rugged mountainous areas. A total of 75 terrorists have been killed in various intelligence-based operations since July 5.
The operation was launched following a terrorist attack on Mangi Dam Police Station. Security officials confirmed that the operation is continuing, with forces tightening the cordon around militants.
Attack on Zehri Police Station Foiled
Bugti also reported that a terrorist attack on Zehri Police Station in the Kachhar area was foiled. Separately, security sources said an attack on a police station in Zeedi, Khuzdar, was repulsed, with eight terrorists killed in a swift response by Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps troops. Reports indicate another five to six terrorists were killed during helicopter operations.
CM Urges Unity Against Propaganda
During a meeting with participants of a sit-in near BA Mall and families of martyrs, Bugti warned that terrorists are spreading misleading propaganda by blaming state institutions for crimes. He urged the patriotic people of Balochistan not to fall prey to such narratives and to stand with state institutions for national unity, peace, and stability.
He highlighted international conspiracies aimed at destabilizing Pakistan through terrorism and violence, while also attempting to blame state institutions to mislead the public.
Compensation and Support for Martyrs’ Families
Bugti announced that families of martyrs will receive financial compensation, government jobs, and complete educational support for their children. He confirmed that decisions from the Balochistan Apex Committee, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and attended by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, will be fully implemented.
Government spokesman Shahid Rind said that on the special directive of the Chief Minister, release orders for Rs11 million compensation to each family of police personnel martyred in Ziarat have been issued. Payment is being made at their doorsteps to ensure immediate relief. The Balochistan government will also bear maintenance, welfare, and all educational expenses for the children of the martyrs.
Rind stated that while financial compensation cannot replace human lives, the government stands with the families in this difficult time and will continue cooperation.
