Commissioner Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mehsud, on Saturday commended the district administration, police, Capital Metropolitan Government, Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP), Rescue 1122, Civil Defence, and all other relevant departments for maintaining peace and exemplary law and order throughout the division during Muharram-ul-Haram.
Professionalism and Coordination Praised
In a statement, the commissioner said that all institutions demonstrated exceptional professionalism, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility while performing their duties during the holy month. He noted that effective coordination among government departments and law enforcement agencies ensured comprehensive security and administrative arrangements for religious gatherings and processions.
Role of Religious Scholars and Community
The commissioner also appreciated the constructive role played by religious scholars from all schools of thought, whose cooperation and responsible conduct helped strengthen peace, harmony, and interfaith understanding. He particularly acknowledged the cooperation extended by the business community and citizens of Peshawar with the district administration and law enforcement agencies, stating that their support contributed significantly to the successful conclusion of Muharram in an atmosphere of peace, unity, and religious harmony.
Recognition and Future Ceremony
Mehsud further said that the government and district administration highly value the services of all officers, officials, religious scholars, traders, Civil Defense volunteers, and the business community who played a vital role in maintaining peace during the holy month. He announced the holding of a ceremony to give certificates to officers, personnel, traders, volunteers, and other individuals who rendered outstanding services in ensuring effective security arrangements and maintaining law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram.
