Muharram Security Finalized for 4,376 Majalis and 757 Processions in Rawalpindi
Muharram Security Finalized in Rawalpindi Division

RAWALPINDI: Security arrangements for all 4,376 majalis and 757 processions in Rawalpindi Division during Muharramul Haram have been finalized. Authorities have issued orders for the district restriction of 199 firebrand speakers and gag orders against 83 others, while 312 individuals have been placed on the Fourth Schedule in Rawalpindi.

Provincial Committee Meeting

An important meeting of the Provincial Cabinet Committee on Law and Order was held in Rawalpindi to review the security measures. Provincial Minister and Committee Chairman Khawaja Salman Rafique, along with Co-Chairman Bilal Yasin, attended the meeting. Other provincial ministers present included Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth and Bilal Akbar Khan. The meeting was also attended by Home Secretary Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi, Additional IG CTD Wasim Sial, Chief Coordinator PFTIC Brigadier Asjad Ali, DIG Special Branch Sajjad Manj, and DG Auqaf Hafiz Aneesur Rehman.

Briefing on Arrangements

Rawalpindi Commissioner Engineer Amir Khattak and RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa briefed the participants on the arrangements. The briefing confirmed that preparations for all 4,376 majalis and 757 processions had been completed. Orders have been issued for the district restriction of 199 speakers and gag orders against 83 others. Additionally, 312 individuals have been placed on the Fourth Schedule in Rawalpindi to ensure security during the religious observances.
