Suspect Killed in Exchange of Fire

A suspected criminal wanted in dozens of cases was killed during an alleged police encounter in Gulberb, Tandlianwala, late on Saturday night. Police officials reported that a team led by SHO Rana Abdul Ghaffar had set up a checkpoint near Kamalabad graveyard when two motorcyclists opened fire and attempted to flee.

Details of the Incident

During the exchange of fire, 37-year-old Ghulam Mohiuddin of Chak 55-JB Baba Bakala was injured. According to police, the injuries were caused by gunfire from his own accomplices. He was shifted to Allied Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police confirmed that the deceased was wanted in several cases registered in various districts. These included a recent extortion-related firing incident that had gone viral on social media. A case was registered against the fleeing suspect, and raids have been launched to arrest him.
