10 Terrorists Killed in Lakki Marwat Operation

In a significant blow to militancy, Pakistani security forces successfully neutralized ten terrorists during a major intelligence-driven operation conducted on Friday in the Pahaar Khel Pakka area of Lakki Marwat.

Operation Details and Fierce Engagement

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) launched the operation after receiving credible intelligence reports about militant movement from Subdivision Bettani towards Pahaar Khel. According to officials, a group of between 20 and 30 terrorists were traveling in small formations when joint police and security units intercepted them around 7:30 am.

Heavy firing and shelling targeted multiple militant hideouts, resulting in significant losses for the terrorist group. Armoured vehicles from the Lakki Marwat Police provided critical tactical support throughout the intense engagement, enabling forces to effectively surround and engage the militants.

Key Commanders Eliminated

Among the ten terrorists killed were two high-value targets identified as key commanders of the Tipu Gul group. The slain commanders were Niaz Ali, also known as Akasha, and Abdullah, known as Shipankoi.

During the subsequent clearance operation, security forces recovered seven bodies from the scene. However, three remaining bodies could not be immediately retrieved due to intermittent firing and the challenging mountainous terrain near the Bettani mountains.

Official Statements and Ongoing Operations

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed confirmed that five terrorists were injured in the operation and one facilitator was arrested. The IGP emphasized that counter-terrorism operations will continue relentlessly until all security threats are completely neutralized.

IGP Hameed praised the professionalism and bravery demonstrated by the Lakki Marwat Police during the complex operation. He reaffirmed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police remain fully prepared and committed to protecting citizens and maintaining peace across the province through decisive action against terrorist elements.
