A joyful wedding celebration met with a tragic turn of events in Badin on Wednesday. A Suzuki van, transporting guests back from the ceremony, overturned, resulting in injuries to at least 18 individuals. The incident occurred near the Ansari Sugar Mills on Zardari Road, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Details of the Devastating Accident

According to initial reports from the authorities, the accident was caused by a mechanical failure. The tie rod of the Suzuki van reportedly broke, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The van was carrying guests who were returning to their home village, Rais Lakki Rind of Sanjar Chang, after attending a wedding function in the town of Matli.

The list of the injured includes Nagina, Fauzia, Fazila, Nida, Shahnila, Subia, Moazzam, Alesha, Masooma, Bambo, and Abida. Among the 18 victims, 16 were women and two were children, highlighting the severe impact on families.

Emergency Response and Medical Treatment

Upon receiving the alert, Matli police and dedicated Edhi volunteers swiftly reached the scene. They managed the situation and provided immediate assistance to the injured. All the victims were promptly shifted to the Taluka Hospital Matli for initial medical treatment.

Medical officials at the hospital assessed the conditions of the injured. One woman, who was in a critical condition, was referred to the Civil Hospital in Hyderabad for advanced and specialized care. The other injured individuals are receiving the necessary initial treatment at the Taluka Hospital.
