Tragedy Strikes Near River Indus
According to official police reports, the catastrophe unfolded when a car carrying nine passengers lost control near the River Indus (Darya-e-Hund) in the Swabi area. The vehicle veered violently before crashing into the motorway's side guardrail.
Rescue teams confirmed the immediate deaths of four individuals: two women and two men. The scene was one of profound loss as these passengers succumbed to their injuries at the spot of the impact.
Emergency Response and Hospitalization
Emergency services responded promptly to the crisis. All five surviving passengers sustained severe injuries and required immediate medical attention. Rescue officials provided crucial first aid at the scene before transporting the wounded to Bacha Khan Hospital for comprehensive medical treatment.
The bodies of the deceased were also transferred to the same medical facility, where families gathered to claim their loved ones. The Hund police division has launched a full investigation to determine the precise cause of this tragic motorway accident.
Separate Tourist Vehicle Accident in Swat
In an unrelated but equally distressing incident on the same day, a vehicle carrying tourists met with disaster in the scenic Swat region. The accident occurred in the Mataltaan-Usho area of Kalam when the vehicle slipped off the road and tumbled into a deep ravine.
This separate tragedy claimed one life immediately, while eleven other tourists suffered injuries of varying severity. All injured persons were quickly moved to a nearby hospital for emergency care, highlighting another day of road safety concerns in Pakistan.
