The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Friday constituted a two-member high-level inquiry committee to probe the boat capsizing incident at Saifullah Lake in Swat. The committee is tasked with examining all aspects of the tragedy and submitting a report within seven days.

Committee Composition and Mandate

According to an official notification issued by the provincial government, Secretary for Inter-Provincial Coordination Muhammad Ayaz has been appointed as the head of the committee, while Special Secretary Finance Zubair Ahmad will serve as its member. The notification states that the committee will investigate every facet of the incident and has been authorized to seek assistance from experts and obtain records from relevant government departments.

Incident Details and Casualties

The boat involved in the accident was carrying seven members of the same family from Lahore when it capsized. Rescue teams have recovered the bodies of six victims, while a 17-year-old girl remains missing. Rescue officials are continuing search operations to locate the missing teenager.
