LAHORE: In a significant crackdown on wildlife trafficking, the Wildlife Ranger team conducted a raid in the Shahdara area on Sunday, apprehending a man accused of skinning rare animals. The operation led to the recovery of numerous mummified animals and birds.
Details of the Raid
According to sources from the Punjab Wildlife Department, the accused was involved in killing, mummifying, and selling valuable wildlife. The raid resulted in the recovery of two lions, two blackbucks, leopards, crocodiles, ostriches, monkeys, parrots, pigeons, rabbits, and partridges. Additionally, five deer horns were also seized from the premises.
Legal Action
Authorities have registered a case against the accused at the Shahdara Police Station. The wildlife department is further investigating the network involved in this illegal trade.
