Sindh and Southern Pakistan Face Severe Heatwave Conditions
Temperatures are climbing sharply across Sindh, with the mercury reaching 40 degrees Celsius in Chhore and Mithi on Saturday. In Tando Jam and Thatta districts, temperatures hit 38 degrees Celsius, signaling the onset of intense heat. Karachi, typically cooled by seabreezes, is experiencing a suspension of this relief, leading to a hot and sunny day with a maximum temperature predicted at 33 degrees Celsius. NDMA Issues Heatwave Alert for Multiple Regions
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert warning of persistently high maximum temperatures and a heatwave affecting Sindh starting April 11. According to the NDMA, temperatures are expected to be 3 to 5 degrees Celsius higher than usual during nighttime and 5 to 7 degrees Celsius above routine levels in the daytime across the province.
