ATTOCK - Three people lost their lives and 12 others were injured in separate incidents, including two fatal shootings and a road accident, in different parts of Attock district, police and rescue officials said on Monday.
First Fatal Shooting
In the first incident, a man was allegedly shot dead over a minor dispute within the jurisdiction of Attock City Police Station. Police identified the deceased as Rashid Iqbal, a resident of Attock. According to investigators, he was allegedly killed by Muhammad Saleem following an altercation. Acting on a complaint lodged by the victim’s brother, Khurram Nadeem, police registered a case and launched an investigation into the murder.
Second Fatal Shooting
In a separate incident, unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle shot and killed Rizwan Quddus, also a resident of Attock, within the limits of Attock Police Station. Police said the attackers fled the scene immediately after committing the crime. A case has been registered and efforts are under way to identify and arrest those responsible.
Road Accident
Meanwhile, one person was killed and 12 others sustained injuries when a dumper carrying passengers overturned in the Fateh Jang area. Rescue officials said the vehicle turned turtle due to reasons yet to be determined, leaving one occupant dead at the scene and injuring several others. Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the site and shifted the deceased and injured to nearby hospitals for medical treatment and legal formalities.
Police have launched separate investigations into the shootings and the road accident.
