Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated a series of development projects in Gilgit-Baltistan, marking a significant step towards the region's socio-economic uplift. Infrastructure Upgrades
The prime minister unveiled the expansion of the Karakoram Highway, a vital artery connecting Pakistan with China. The project aims to improve road safety and reduce travel time, facilitating trade and tourism. Additionally, a new bridge over the Indus River was inaugurated, enhancing connectivity for remote communities.
Energy Sector Initiatives
Several energy projects were launched, including a 50 MW hydropower plant in Skardu. This plant is expected to provide affordable electricity to thousands of households and support local industries. Solar energy initiatives were also announced for off-grid areas, promoting sustainable development.
Tourism Promotion
To boost tourism, PM Shehbaz inaugurated a new tourist complex in Hunza Valley and upgraded facilities at Deosai National Park. Healthcare and Education
