A suicide attack at a security checkpost in North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulted in injuries to at least 14 civilians on Friday, according to official reports. The incident occurred at the Chashma Sarbandi checkpost located on the Miranshah-Bannu Road, with police confirming the targeted nature of the assault.
Critical Injuries and Medical Response
Dr Asif Iqbal, the Medical Superintendent at Miranshah District Headquarters Hospital, provided details on the casualties, stating that four of the injured are in critical condition. He added that additional victims were being transported to the hospital for treatment, though no fatalities have been reported so far. Medical staff at DHQ Hospital Miranshah and Rescue 1122 teams have been placed on high alert to manage the emergency situation effectively.

Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, issued a strong condemnation of the suicide blast, describing it as a deeply unfortunate incident that targeted innocent civilians. He has taken immediate notice of the attack and directed the Inspector General of Police to submit a comprehensive report detailing the explosion and the circumstances surrounding it.
