A model court in Lahore has delivered a stern verdict in a chilling murder case, sentencing two individuals to life behind bars for killing a factory owner during a failed robbery attempt.
Verdict Announced After Full Trial
On Tuesday, Model Court Judge Riaz Ahmed announced the decision, concluding the trial. The court not only handed down life sentences to the convicted men, identified as Saad and Sameer, but also imposed a substantial financial penalty, ordering each to pay a fine of Rs 500,000.
Prosecution Builds a Strong Case
During the court proceedings, Prosecutor Habib-ur-Rehman presented a robust case against the accused. The prosecution successfully called upon 17 witnesses to testify, establishing the charges beyond a reasonable doubt. According to the evidence presented, the grim incident unfolded at the victim's premises in the Mochi Gate area of Lahore.
The court heard that both convicts were formerly employed at the victim's factory. Their plan to rob the factory owner, Sheikh Ehsan, took a fatal turn. In the course of the attempted theft, they attacked Sheikh Ehsan with a knife, stabbing him fatally.
