KP Labour Open Court in Peshawar Resolves Worker Grievances

In a significant move to address labor concerns, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Labour Department conducted an open court, known as a Khuli Kachehri, in Peshawar on Thursday. This initiative, aligned with the provincial government's good governance and open-door policy under the Chief Minister's leadership, aimed to ensure prompt resolution of workers' complaints and effective redressal of labor issues.

High-Level Officials Chair the Session

The session was chaired by Secretary Labour and Chairman of the Workers Welfare Board, Capt (R) Mian Adil Iqbal. A team of senior officials was present to facilitate the process, including:

  • Secretary of the Workers Welfare Board, Sher Alam Khan
  • Vice Commissioner ESSI, Waseem Ahmad
  • Director Labour, Tariq Khan
  • Director Works, Asif Majeed
  • Director Medical, Deputy Director Works, and other key officers from the Labour Department and Workers Welfare Board

Workers Present Grievances Directly

A large number of industrial workers, with notable participation from women, attended the open court. They presented their grievances directly to the administration, allowing for immediate interaction and on-the-spot instructions issued to relevant officers for swift action.

Key Announcements for Workers' Welfare

Addressing the gathering, Capt (R) Mian Adil Iqbal emphasized that the welfare of the working class remains a top priority for the provincial government. He made two major announcements to support workers' families:

  1. International Educational Scholarships: Five children of workers will be awarded international educational scholarships annually based on merit.
  2. Civil Service Preparation: Ten children each year will receive opportunities to prepare for civil service examinations through the CSA Academy, with expenses covered by the government.

Transparent and Comprehensive Proceedings

During the open court, officers responded to workers' questions in a transparent and comprehensive manner, ensuring that all concerns were addressed satisfactorily. Participants expressed appreciation for the administration's people-focused approach, timely actions, and prompt resolution of issues.
