Sindh to Experience Hot and Humid Conditions
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast hot and humid weather across Sindh for the next few days. The Met Office reported that temperatures in most districts will range between 36°C and 40°C, with Karachi expected to face particularly high humidity levels.
Karachi's Humidity Levels
In Karachi, the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 35°C to 37°C, but humidity levels may exceed 70%, making the feel-like temperature much higher. The Met Office advised residents to stay hydrated and avoid direct exposure to sunlight during peak hours.
Heatwave Warning for Other Districts
Other districts of Sindh, including Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana, are expected to experience a mild heatwave, with temperatures touching 40°C in some areas. The Met Office warned that the combination of high temperatures and humidity could lead to heat-related illnesses.
Official Advice
According to a Met Office official, “The public is advised to take necessary precautions, especially those involved in outdoor activities. Children and the elderly should be particularly careful.” The department also recommended drinking plenty of water and wearing light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.
Extended Forecast
The hot and humid spell is likely to persist for the next 48 to 72 hours, with a slight chance of sea breeze in coastal areas providing some relief. However, no significant rainfall is expected across the province during this period.
