Kundi Directs PESCO to Avoid Unannounced Load-Shedding

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Friday directed the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) to avoid unannounced load-shedding across the province, particularly in Dera Ismail Khan, during the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram. The directive came during a meeting with a PESCO delegation led by Chief Executive Engineer Akhtar Hameed Khan at the Governor House.

Grid Station Updates

The Governor was informed that required equipment for the Band Korai Grid Station had been delivered, paving the way for its early inauguration. He also noted that the Dera Ismail Khan 220-KV Grid Station would be inaugurated after legal issues are resolved. The district administration has imposed Section 144 to prevent forest fires in the region.

Community Engagement and Repairs

Kundi emphasized the need for PESCO to engage local elders and utilize the traditional jirga system to address public complaints. He directed the immediate repair of faulty transformers in Dera Ismail Khan and the provision of necessary facilities and equipment to the Superintending Engineer Office. The Governor called for effective measures to prevent transformer theft and instructed the Deputy Inspector General of Dera Ismail Khan to take special steps in this regard.
