Earthquake Strikes Balochistan Districts
Moderate earthquake tremors were felt in the Balochistan districts of Sibi and Kohlu on Friday, triggering panic among residents who rushed out of their homes and workplaces. According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake measured 4.2 magnitude in Sibi and 5.0 magnitude in Kohlu.
Details of the Tremors
The centre said the Sibi quake originated at a depth of 42 kilometres, with its epicentre located 57 kilometres northeast of the city. The Kohlu earthquake struck at a depth of 18 kilometres, with its epicentre situated 65 kilometres northeast of the district. Initial reports indicated no loss of life or damage to property.
Authorities on Alert
Authorities said the situation was being closely monitored, while relevant departments remained on alert following the tremors. The Seismological Centre continues to track seismic activity in the region.
