The administration of the University of Sindh has enforced a prohibition on the use of loudspeakers within the campus premises, aiming to foster a serene and conducive atmosphere for academic pursuits. This directive was communicated through an official circular issued by Dr. Muhammad Younis Laghari, the Advisor for Students' Matters and Services.
Strict Prohibition on Loudspeakers
According to the circular, both students and faculty members are strictly forbidden from bringing loudspeakers onto the campus or operating them at elevated volumes. The administration emphasizes that this measure is designed to safeguard the academic environment, ensuring that teaching and learning activities remain uninterrupted and free from noise disturbances.
Exceptions for Official Programs
Despite the blanket ban, the university has permitted the limited use of sound systems for official programs, but only with prior authorization. In such instances, the head of the respective institute, department, or center is required to submit a formal request to the office of the Advisor for Students' Matters and Services before utilizing any audio equipment. This procedure ensures that all sound system usage is controlled and does not compromise the academic ambiance.
The decision reflects the university's commitment to maintaining discipline and order, prioritizing the educational needs of students over unnecessary noise. The circular has been circulated across all departments to ensure compliance.
