The crash occurred near the Butler Memorial Airport, as reported on social media. The agency stated, “At this time, reports indicate all occupants (12 total) have perished.” Butler is located approximately 60 miles south of Kansas City.

In a separate incident, a mid-air collision between two helicopters in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, resulted in six fatalities, local media reported. The crash occurred around 11:59 GMT in the southwestern neighborhood of Recreio dos Bandeirantes, according to Globo News. One helicopter carried four passengers and a pilot, while the other was operated solely by a pilot. A spokesperson for the RJ Fire Department confirmed that no one on board survived.

One of the helicopters exploded upon impact near a parking lot containing electric vehicles, triggering secondary blasts and a column of smoke visible from miles away. The second aircraft landed upside down but did not catch fire.
