Deputy Commissioner Vehari Khalid Javed Goraya and District Police Officer (DPO) Tasawur Iqbal conducted a comprehensive review of Muharram security arrangements across the district. They inspected procession routes and Imambargahs, monitored live surveillance through the District Control Room, and directed District Inspection Teams to ensure civic facilities and public safety.
On-Site Visits and Inspections
The Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by the DPO, visited an Imambargah and Muharram routes in 44-WB to assess security and administrative measures. He instructed relevant departments to ensure cleanliness, water sprinkling, Sabeels, rescue services, and medical facilities. The Imambargah administration expressed satisfaction with the district administration's arrangements.
Commitment to Peaceful Environment
Khalid Javed Goraya stated that all efforts are being made to provide a peaceful and secure environment for mourners during Muharram-ul-Haram. DPO Tasawur Iqbal confirmed that a comprehensive security plan is in place to protect Imambargahs and processions.
Control Room Monitoring and Team Directives
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed live monitoring of Muharram routes at the District Control Room and urged officials to remain vigilant and maintain close coordination with field teams. He also chaired a meeting of District Inspection Teams, directing them to identify open manholes, stray dogs, garbage dumps, and drainage issues, and to conduct special inspections of Muharram routes. He ordered action against illegal housing societies lacking manhole covers and reviewed the performance of the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), instructing improvements to the city's green areas. Additional Deputy Commissioner General Rana Ghulam Murtaza and other officers were present.
Additional Visits and Directives
Deputy Commissioner Vehari Khalid Javed Goraia, along with District Police Officer Taswar Iqbal, also visited Imambargahs in 84 WB and 118 WB and inspected Muharram procession routes in detail. They reviewed security arrangements and administrative measures for gatherings and processions. The Deputy Commissioner directed foolproof security, cleaning of procession routes, water sprinkling, provision of sabils, timely availability of rescue services, and medical facilities. Imambargah administrations expressed complete satisfaction. Khalid Javed Goraia emphasized that the district administration is active in ensuring the best arrangements during Muharram, with strict implementation of the code of conduct and a priority on providing a safe, peaceful, and well-equipped environment for mourners.
Police Security Measures
District Police Officer Taswar Iqbal stated that the best security arrangements have been made for processions, Majalis, and Imambargahs, utilizing all available resources to maintain law and order. Assistant Commissioner Melsi Saad Bin Khalid, DSP, and other officers were also present.
