Visit to the Coaching Camp
The Secretary of the Sports Journalists Association of Sindh (SJAS), Mujahid Solangi, visited the 20th KBBA Summer Girls and Boys Basketball Coaching Camp at the International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court, Aram Bagh. He reviewed the ongoing training activities and interacted with participants. Among those present were Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Aamir Sharif, Asad Ibad Ali, Malik Nasir, and other distinguished personalities.
Camp Progress and Objectives
Camp Commandant Haji Muhammad Ashraf Yahya briefed the visiting delegation about the objectives and progress of the annual coaching camp. During the ceremony, participants also cut a cake to commemorate the 73rd birth anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
Solangi's Address to Young Players
Addressing the young players, Mujahid Solangi praised the standard of coaching and the enthusiasm displayed by the participants. He said that after witnessing the camp’s activities, he was confident that Karachi would once again produce outstanding basketball players in the mould of Abdul Majeed, Tanveer Ahmed, Azam Khan, and Abdul Nasir.
Commitment to Female Players
He particularly appreciated the commitment shown by the girls, expressing confidence that Karachi’s female basketball players would continue to dominate the national basketball scene. Solangi urged the participants to embrace hard work, honesty, patriotism, and respect for their parents and teachers as guiding principles in life. He also assured the Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) of full support from both SJAS and himself.
Upcoming Events and Camps
Meanwhile, Ghulam Muhammad Khan announced that, similar to last year’s Independence Day celebrations, KBBA will once again organize exhibition matches between SJAS and the Commissioner’s Team for both boys and girls this year. He further announced that the Sindh Basketball Association, in collaboration with the Larkana Basketball Association and Sukkur Basketball Association, will organize boys’ coaching camps in Larkana from July 10 to 15, followed by girls’ coaching camps in Sukkur from July 15 to 19.
