The inaugural Metrix Pakistan Khanpur Tech Summit drew thousands of students, entrepreneurs, and young professionals on Sunday, with speakers calling on Pakistani youth to acquire digital skills, embrace innovation, and prepare for a technology-driven economy. Organised by Metrix Pakistan in collaboration with the Directorate of Youth Affairs, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Grow Pakistan, and Mehmar, the event was held at the TMA Hall in Khanpur. Organisers described it as the largest technology-focused event ever held in the town.
Keynote Speakers and Topics
More than 15 speakers from the technology industry, business community, academia, and youth development sector addressed participants through keynote presentations, panel discussions, and interactive Q&A sessions. Among the keynote speakers were Qaisar Akash Khan, Chief Executive Officer of Dilijent Systems; Ammad Ali, Chief Executive Officer of RankingGrow; Hassan Nisar, Chief Executive Officer of Metrix Pakistan; women’s empowerment advocate Amina Mishkat; cyber security expert Abdullah Ismail; IT specialist and motivational speaker Muhammad Ali; and Abdullah Muneer, Chief Executive Officer of Grow Pakistan.
Focus on Digital Skills and Innovation
Speakers highlighted the growing influence of artificial intelligence, cyber security, software development, digital marketing, freelancing, and entrepreneurship. They stressed that continuous learning and the acquisition of practical technological skills are essential to remain competitive in the evolving job market. Rapid technological advances are transforming economies worldwide and creating new opportunities for individuals equipped with digital expertise, they said. Students were encouraged to pursue innovation, develop entrepreneurial ventures, and make constructive use of digital platforms to contribute to Pakistan’s expanding digital economy.
Connecting Youth with Industry Professionals
According to organisers, the summit aimed to connect young people with industry professionals and provide a platform for students to gain practical insights into careers in technology and business. Khanpur, located in Haripur district, is best known for the scenic Khanpur Dam, a major tourism and water sports destination. Organisers noted that hosting a technology summit of this scale reflected the growing interest of local youth in innovation, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies.
Networking and Future Plans
The event concluded with networking sessions between participants and industry experts. Organisers expressed their intention to establish the Khanpur Tech Summit as an annual forum for promoting technology, entrepreneurship, and youth development in the region.
