Participants were briefed on necessary precautionary measures to protect crops, orchards, and livestock from extreme heat. Experts urged dealers to guide farmers on timely irrigation, moisture conservation, providing adequate shade for livestock, ensuring continuous supply of clean and cool drinking water, and other preventive actions to minimize heatwave-related losses.

Prohibited Pesticides for Rice Crop

Rana Shahid Iqbal, Deputy Director Agriculture (Pest Warning), Dunyapur, stated that in line with the Government of Punjab and Director General Pest Warning Punjab directives, 13 pesticides prohibited for use on rice crop must not be sold or applied. He urged dealers to refrain from selling these products and to advise farmers to use only registered pesticides as per Agriculture Department technical recommendations.
