APCMA Applauds Crackdown on Illegal Red Bull Cement Unit

The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) has commended a multi-agency operation against an unauthorized cement manufacturing unit operating as M/s Red Bull Cement on Sargodha Faisalabad Road, linked to Rohri Cement.

Authorities Seal Illegal Unit

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and District Industries Department conducted a detailed inspection and found the unit operating without mandatory approvals, registrations, environmental clearances, and other statutory permissions. Consequently, the premises were sealed and operations suspended through written orders.

APCMA appreciated the timely and decisive action by these departments in upholding the rule of law and protecting legitimate businesses.

Impact on Economy and Competition

Illegal cement manufacturing causes substantial losses to the national exchequer through tax evasion and undermines fair competition by bypassing environmental, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements that compliant manufacturers must meet.

According to APCMA, Pakistan’s cement industry contributes billions of rupees in taxes and strictly adheres to regulations issued by FBR, EPA, and other departments.

Call for Stronger Oversight

APCMA urged authorities to strengthen oversight mechanisms to proactively identify and act against non-compliant units before further damage occurs. The association remains committed to supporting regulatory authorities in eliminating unlawful industrial activity and ensuring a transparent, competitive, and sustainable business environment for Pakistan’s cement sector.
