According to police, multiple complaints were received from women who alleged that the suspect misbehaved with them while their biometrics were being conducted. The matter gained further attention after a video, purportedly showing the incident, went viral on social media. Officials said the video and public complaints prompted immediate action.

Following an investigation, police arrested Waqar Yousaf and registered an FIR. Section 354 relates to assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty, while section 509 pertains to words or gestures intended to insult the modesty of a woman.

Community Concerns and Police Response

Residents said women in the area had been expressing concern about the issue for some time and had urged authorities to take notice. BISP currently operates with 151 deputationists and consultants due to a lack of permanent staff.
