Commissioner of Dera Ghazi Khan Division, Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry, conducted a detailed visit to tehsil Alipur in Muzaffargarh district on Tuesday. He inspected the construction work on the Chandar Bhan Flood Protection Embankment, the Quaid-e-Azam Road Beautification Project, and the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Muzaffargarh Hafiz Usman Tahir Jappa, Chief Engineer Irrigation Rana Zulfiqar Ali, the superintending engineer, executive engineer irrigation, Assistant Commissioner Alipur Zeeshan Ghazlani, and other concerned officials.
Flood Protection Embankment Inspection
The commissioner traveled approximately 24 kilometres from Panjnad Road to inspect the Chandar Bhan Flood Protection Embankment. During the visit, officials from the district administration and the Irrigation Department briefed him on the project’s progress, informing him that the land acquisition process had been completed and construction work was progressing rapidly. Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry directed the authorities to ensure the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe without compromising construction quality. He emphasised that upon completion, the embankment would significantly enhance flood protection for Alipur and surrounding areas, helping authorities effectively manage potential flood situations during the monsoon season.
Road Beautification and Trader Meetings
Later, the commissioner visited the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Road Beautification Project, where officials presented an update on its progress. He also met local traders, listened to their concerns and suggestions, and instructed the relevant departments to complete the project on schedule while maintaining high construction standards to provide residents with an improved and aesthetically pleasing urban environment.
Hospital Visit and Healthcare Directives
During his visit to the THQ Hospital Alipur, the commissioner inspected various wards, met patients, and inquired from their attendants about the quality of medical treatment, availability of medicines, and healthcare facilities being provided. He directed the hospital administration to ensure an uninterrupted supply of medicines and to deliver quality healthcare services to all patients.
