Deputy Commissioner Inspects Mango Festival 2026 at Faiz Park
Deputy Commissioner Usman Tahir Jappa visited the two-day Mango Festival 2026 at Faiz Park on Saturday to review the event's arrangements, held under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The festival showcases premium mango varieties from Muzaffargarh and other districts of South Punjab.
Focus on Agricultural Development and Export Promotion
During his visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the mango exhibition, agricultural stalls, and information booths. He met with orchard owners, farmers, agricultural experts, and exporters to discuss mango production, processing, grading, packaging, value addition, and export promotion. He stated that the Punjab government is taking practical measures to strengthen the agriculture sector, encourage growers, and expand access of local agricultural products to international markets.
Directives for Public Facilities and Safety
The Deputy Commissioner directed relevant departments to ensure foolproof cleanliness, security, parking, safe drinking water, lighting, and other public facilities for visitors. He emphasized that citizens should be provided with a safe and pleasant environment throughout the festival. Government departments have established information stalls to educate farmers on modern agricultural practices, processing techniques, and export opportunities.
Cultural Events and Public Response
A mushaira featuring prominent poets of South Punjab is scheduled for Saturday evening, while a musical night will be held on Sunday. A large number of families, women, and children visited the festival and appreciated the arrangements, noting that such events help promote the district's agricultural potential and cultural heritage while encouraging local mango growers.
