One of the most encouraging aspects of Habib University’s Convocation 2026 was the evidence that students had already begun contributing to society before graduation. According to the university, 100 out of 127 final-year projects addressed Pakistan’s social realities, while nine graduates had already launched ventures of their own. These achievements illustrate the importance of connecting education with practical problem-solving.
Projects Addressing Real-World Challenges
The projects reportedly ranged from technological solutions and healthcare applications to research on justice systems and cultural preservation. Such work reflects an understanding that innovation is most meaningful when directed towards real societal challenges.
Need for Applied Learning
Pakistan faces complex economic and social issues that require fresh thinking. Universities can play an important role by encouraging students to apply their knowledge beyond the classroom and engage directly with the problems facing their communities.
