Karachi Police Arrest Five Gamblers in Surjani Town Raid

Police arrested five suspected gamblers during a raid on an alleged gambling den in the Surjani Town area, while two other suspects managed to escape, SSP Central Dr Muhammad Imran Khan said.

Raid Details and Arrests

According to the SSP, the raid was conducted by Surjani Town police based on a tip-off, leading to the disruption of an illegal gambling gathering. Police said the suspects were allegedly caught red-handed while engaged in gambling activities. A police team immediately cordoned off the area and arrested five individuals.

The arrested suspects were identified as Younis, son of Haseeb; Suleman, son of Ghulam Shabbir; Hussain, Ishaq and Irfan.

Recoveries and Legal Action

Police claimed to have recovered Rs. 64,470 allegedly staked on gambling, along with cash, mobile phones and playing cards from their possession. A case has been registered against the arrested suspects at Surjani Town Police Station.

Ongoing Search for Escapees

Police said raids were under way to arrest the two absconding suspects, identified as Jalal Magsi and Sikandar.
