Lahore Traffic Police has expanded commercial driving licence facilities to three additional centres, increasing the total service points to four across the city. According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi, rickshaw drivers can now obtain commercial licences from Manawan, Ichhra Licencing Centre Town, Greater Iqbal Park, and Wapda Town centres.
The newly designated centres will operate on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, easing access for drivers who previously had to rely only on the Manawan centre and face long travel times and delays. The CTO said the initiative aims to make the licensing process more accessible, efficient, and citizen-friendly.
He added that QR-code-based panic buttons will be installed in rickshaws after licensing to improve passenger safety.
