Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has stated that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is rapidly implementing her vision of public service, social welfare, and economic empowerment through people-centric initiatives across the province. Speaking to the media, Bokhari highlighted the launch of the 'Apna Khet Apna Rozgar' scheme, which she described as a historic initiative aimed at empowering landless and underprivileged families.
Key Features of the Apna Khet Apna Rozgar Scheme
Under the 'Apna Khet Apna Rozgar' scheme, 30,000 families are being provided ownership of agricultural land. This initiative follows the successful 'Apni Chhat Apna Ghar' and 'Apni Zameen Apna Ghar' programmes. According to Azma Bokhari, over 180,000 people have already become homeowners under the 'Apni Chhat Apna Ghar' programme, while in the first phase of 'Apni Zameen Apna Ghar', 2,000 deserving families have received free residential plots. These efforts reflect the Punjab Government's commitment to providing dignified housing opportunities.
Support for the Agricultural Sector
Azma Bokhari emphasized that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has placed farmers' welfare at the forefront of her development agenda. Across Punjab, 900,000 Kissan Cards and 30,000 Green Tractors have been distributed. Additionally, 5,000 farmers have received Super Seeder machines, and 8,000 tube wells have been converted to solar power. These initiatives are expected to enhance agricultural productivity, reduce cultivation costs, and significantly improve farmers' incomes.
Tangible Improvements in Public Welfare
Azma Bokhari asserted that the Punjab Government's public welfare programmes are no longer limited to announcements but are producing tangible improvements in citizens' lives. She added that the journey of development and prosperity now extends from Attock to Rahim Yar Khan, with people across the province benefiting from these transformative initiatives.
Setting New Benchmarks in Governance
The Information Minister further stated that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is setting new benchmarks in public service, with the welfare of the people remaining the central focus of her governance. She noted that Maryam Nawaz has consistently responded to political propaganda, misinformation, and baseless allegations through transparent governance, effective delivery, and measurable performance. The people of Punjab clearly recognize the difference between those who serve the public and those who rely solely on political rhetoric and allegations, she added.
The Punjab Government remains fully committed to improving the quality of life of its citizens and accelerating the province's journey towards inclusive growth and prosperity under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Bokhari concluded.
