Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday expressed gratitude to overseas Pakistanis for sending higher remittances during the fiscal year 2025-26 compared to the previous year. In a statement, the prime minister thanked the patriotic overseas Pakistanis for contributing $41.6 billion in remittances during FY2025-26.
8.6% Increase Reflects Trust in Government Policies
Shehbaz noted that the 8.6 percent increase in remittances demonstrated the confidence of overseas Pakistanis in the government's economic policies. He emphasized that this growth is a positive indicator for the national economy.
Overseas Pakistanis Called a Valuable Asset
The prime minister referred to overseas Pakistanis as a valuable asset, stating that he and the entire nation take pride in their contributions. He assured that measures for their welfare remain a top priority for the government.
In a separate development, Pakistan has floated another tender for procuring a liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo from the spot market.
