The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) has intensified its crackdown on drug traffickers and smugglers, seizing more than 678 kilograms of narcotics and arresting 56 suspects during 52 operations conducted across the province over the past two weeks.
Details of Seized Narcotics
According to CNF officials, the recovered narcotics included a substantial quantity of various drugs. Specifically, the haul comprised 514 kilograms of hashish, 120 kilograms of opium, 20.5 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), 24 kilograms of cannabis, and 138 grams of heroin. Additionally, authorities confiscated 1,220 litres of liquor and 10 pistols during these operations.
Objectives of the Operations
The CNF stated that the operations were designed not only to curb drug trafficking but also to eliminate illegal weapons and liquor, thereby enhancing public safety and maintaining law and order across Punjab. Since becoming operational on August 22, 2025, the Punjab CNF has recovered a total of 22.8 tonnes of narcotics worth an estimated Rs2.556 billion, reflecting the agency's intensified efforts against drug trafficking networks.
Commitment to Continued Action
The Director General of Punjab CNF reiterated that indiscriminate action against drug dealers, smugglers, and criminal elements would continue, with a special focus on protecting young people from the dangers of narcotics. The force remains committed to eradicating the drug menace from the province.
